While I don't consider myself a writer, per se, I do enjoy putting thoughts down "on paper". My prayer is that this Blog will add value to your business and your life. And that we can have a little fun together along the way.

Are you tired of hearing the same old advice about growing your business? “Make a killer website.” “Engage with your customers on social media.” “Attend networking events.” Blah, blah, blah. Yawn.

Well, here’s a fresh idea for you: start using short form video to promote your business! I’m not talking about hour-long webinars or those cringe-worthy infomercials from the 90s. I’m talking about quick, bite-sized clips that capture your audience’s attention and leave them wanting more.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But Jan, I’m not a TikTok influencer. I don’t know how to make viral videos!” Don’t worry, my friend. You don’t need to be a professional videographer to make a killer short form video. All you need is a smartphone and a little creativity.

Short Form Video Tips!

Here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Keep it short and sweet. Nobody has time for a five-minute sales pitch. Try to keep your video under a minute, and get straight to the point.
  2. Make it visually interesting. Use eye-catching graphics or animations to make your video stand out from the crowd. Using the stickers and other features that are native to the platform you are recording on is a plus. (the algorithm LOVE that!)
  3. Add some personality. People want to do business with people they like. Don’t be afraid to inject some humor or personal flair into your video.
  4. End with a call to action. What do you want your viewers to do after watching your video? Follow you? Subscribe? Visit your website? Grab your freebie? Schedule a consultation? Make sure you tell them!

Short Form VideoTraining!

I hopped on a video chat with my friend, Melissa Lea Hughes, recently to get her tips on creating viral videos to grow your business. You can find that training here.

Using short form video to promote your business can be a game-changer. Not only does it help you reach a wider audience, but it also allows you to showcase your brand’s personality and build a stronger connection with your customers. So go ahead, grab your phone, and start filming! Who knows, you could be the next viral sensation (or at least get a few new customers).
