What Are You Afraid Of?

July 13, 2021

God is still sovereign and he created your children to be perfect to grow up right now, for such a time as this; even with all the yuck.

I'm Jan!

While I don't consider myself a writer, per se, I do enjoy putting thoughts down "on paper". My prayer is that this Blog will add value to your business and your life. And that we can have a little fun together along the way.

My sweet E.

This blog post is going to be a little different. I want to talk to all the parent’s out there for a minute…

My friends comment, a lot, that this is hard and scary place to raise children. I agree. I’m a grandmother. I TOTALLY get it! But here’s a perspective that I want to share with you today.

God is sovereign and he puts people in the places that he wants them to be, that he NEEDS them to be, just like Queen Esther. For such a time as this.

If you were born in the seventies, you were uniquely created to grow up during that time and influence the people that God put in your path. Same with the eighties, nineties, and guess what? God is still sovereign and he created your children to be perfect to grow up right now, for such a time as this; even with all the yuck.

Here’s what is going to blow your mind is just a little bit more.

As ill-equipped as you may feel – he created you to be uniquely able to parent those children to grow up and be a light and share Jesus in this world.

I’m just going to let that sink in for just a second…

It’s scary. But while I think the things that your children face are different and the world seems to be changing at a faster pace than it used to, I think parents have probably always been a little fearful of what they’re children were
having to go into as they grew up; because it was different than how they grew up.

So the charge is this… If you’re going to be fearful, which we all are in some way, if you’re going to be fearful of the world and society and the things that your children are having to face as they enter school or driving or whatever stage they’re in – you need to check where you’re putting your fear.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, the fear of the Lord who created all of this should override your fear of anything that you are raising your children to go out into.

The fear of the LORD!

The title of this blog is “what are you afraid of?” We could make a whole list; some people probably do. In life. In business. But at the top of that list should be the fear of the Creator of the Universe who holds it all in his hand, who controls everything and guess what… loves your children more than you ever will!

Ponder that as you go into the day.

No matter what your day faces trust your children to the Lord, trust your situation to the Lord, trust your LIFE to the Lord. Whatever you’re fearful of (it may not be your kids at this point depending on your life stage; it may be something else) God’s got this!

Fear the Lord and let that fear override all the other fear. Ask him to give you the peace that passes all understanding as you walk through whatever it is that you’re walking through right now. He is faithful and he has a plan.

In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and his children will have refuge. Proverbs 14:26
