Two weeks today, I was on my way to Reach Retreat in lovely New Braunfels and a house on the river with a bunch of women that I did not know. I’m not going to lie, I was not sure what to expect on that retreat.

My close friends know that I am an introvert. While it is nothing for me to sing on a stage in front of two thousand people – you get me in a room with a few people that I don’t know and want to find the closest wall to hug. I knew that going on the retreat would be difficult but I felt like I needed to be there. Something in my spirit said “this is for you.” So I did it. I literally knew one person.

And you know what?

It was great. I met some amazing, strong, powerful women coming from all backgrounds and businesses and stages of life. It was just an awesome connection and I would have missed it if I hadn’t done the hard thing – which is get over myself and go!

Then, as God does, he showed up in every single talk, starting the first night.

The theme that started emerging for me was that although to most people I may come across as a self-confident, leadership-bent, Enneagram eight – I actually struggle a lot with my self-worth and imposter syndrome.

I think in my own head and speak with my mouth words over my life and my business things that are not serving me at all. And are for sure not what God says.

He gave me these talents and abilities. He gave me the ideas that I have for my business and my courses and the different ways that I put myself out in the world to help people. He gave me the gifts and talents that I have. In my own head I just discount all of that.

Excuse the term, but it’s pretty ballsy for me to assume that God is wrong in the way that he made me and that he’s wrong in the life situations that he gave me.

He’s not wrong! He. Is. Not. Wrong!

He has equipped you. He’s put a dream in your heart and your mind and he is given you the gifts and talents that you need to make it happen.

You’re worth success.
You’re worthy of it!
I’m worthy of it it!
We need to stop the negative self-talk!

We have to believe that the dreams and goals and passions that he’s given us are not just for our purpose – it’s for his purpose.

It is for his purpose!

If he’s called you to it, he absolutely is going to give you what you need to do it. Unless, of course, you let Satan get all up in your head and start talking smack and then you join in the conversation.

That’s what’s happening with me; it has been happening for a long time and I didn’t really even know it. I did not even really know it you guys!

I’m a very confident Christian. I believe in the gifts and talents and the way that God put us together. He knows what we are here for on this earth; he did even before we were born. I believe that! But man, when it comes to actually staring yourself in the face every morning
and living that out – that is where the rubber meets the road.

You have got to tell Satan he has no business – he has no business – telling you that you’re not worthy of all the good things that God has for you. Satan doesn’t get to have room in your brain. He has no space there unless you allow it.

I don’t know how you feel about meditations or a positive mindset. I know that for some believers that’s like “oh no, that’s woo woo. You can’t do that.”

Well, that is not true; that is another lie from the pit of hell. Because I know my Bible well enough to know that it is full of verses that talk about getting control of your thoughts and thinking on what’s good and what’s right and what’s kind and all the fruits of the spirit. Think on those things! It talks about how our worth in the book of Matthew; doesn’t he love us and care about us and find us more worthy than all the flowers and the birds?

I feel like I’ve had the beginning of a little bit of an awakening in this space; knowing my worth and not just knowing it in my head but believing it in every fiber of my being – because that’s what it’s gonna take to fulfill God size dreams and passions.

We have to believe what he says about us and what he says he has for us in every fiber of our being.

So today, know your worth – because you are worthy! If you have a dream that God put in your heart – don’t second guess and say that it’s not from God. If it’s there then it’s from him. Just figure out what your next step is and then take some action. Even if it’s scary take some action towards it today. Go forward!

I’ll be darned if I’m gonna go through one more year and look back and think to myself, “Man, I wasted that one.” 2021 does not need to be wasted! It’s your choice what do can do with it.

Go do something toward that your dream today! Just go do it! You are worthy.
